Leire Orue-Echevarria is a policy officer in the Cloud & Software unit of DG CONNECT at the European Commission. She has more than 25 years’ experience in the software industry having worked on numerous projects concerning the development of applications for various industrial sectors, as well as for the government. He also has extensive experience in R&D projects, coordinating multiple projects at European and regional level in the area of software technologies, cloud and cloud security certification, and open source. Leire Orue-Echevarria holds a degree in computer engineering and a PhD in economics.
