Nerea Aranguren - Innovation Manager - DanobatGroup

Nerea Aranguren holds a degree in industrial engineering from the University of Navarra, specialising in organisation, and a PhD in strategic innovation. For more than 20 years she has pursued a career at the IDEKO Technology Centre, which belongs to the BRTA (Basque Research Technology Alliance), where she has performed various functions ranging from research activity to departmental management, reaching the position of General Manager in 2016. On behalf of IDEKO and together with the heads of the other 15 Technology Centres, CICs and the government, she has been participating in the BRTA Board of Directors since it was set up. She also represents the Technology Centre in national and international relations with the leading research organisations in the field of manufacturing, as well as in relations with strategic clients in relevant sectors such as Railways, Aeronautics and Energy.

Always linked to the world of technological innovation and industry, she currently combines managing the IDEKO Technology Centre with leading on Innovation and New Business Promotion at DANOBATGROUP (hereinafter DG), a national leader in the machine tool sector that employs more than 1,400 people with an annual turnover of 250 million. From this position, she is in constant contact with the MONDRAGON Corporation’s Innovation Department, forming part of its decision-making bodies and representing DG at various forums, associations and technology-based companies, among which the following stand out:

• President of CFAA, the Centre for Advanced Aeronautical Manufacturing promoted by DG and ITP.

• Vice-president of BAIC, the Basque Artificial Intelligence Center, a public-private association for promoting AI in Industry.

• President of SAVVY, Industrial Digitalisation solutions.

• Sole Administrator of INGUMA, IDEKO’s start-up for developing competitive intelligence solutions.

• President of UPTEK, an association of startups for advanced and digital manufacturing belonging to the AFM Cluster.

• Member of the Board of Directors of BCN3D, which manufactures additive printing equipment.

• Member of the Board of Directors of ENDITY, a company promoted by IDEKO and DG focused on automated non-destructive inspection solutions.

• Member of the MONDRAGON Corporation’s New Business Promotion Committee.
